Bassett 1960s desk
Bassett furniture desk from the 1960s purchased off Craiglist for $25. Walnut, sturdy.
Original top shown here...
...but turned out to be pressboard with wood grain applique. Surprising, given that the rest of it is solid walnut.
Original right side. The right front leg was split and missing a fair amount of wood.
Given the rounded nature of the iconic mid-century peg leg, the leg repair proved to be a real test of wood-filling skills to create the missing portion:

Materials: AS Graphite, AS Old White. Minwax Polycrilic on all except the drawer slats which received AS clear wax.
